How do I get a library card?

Answer

To apply for or renew a full-service library card, please visit any FBCL location during business hours.

You MUST provide one of the following forms for valid photo ID that is not expired:

  • A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID
  • Passports from any country
  • Any state driver license

If the photo ID does not include your current address, bring a separate document to validate this information (mail, utility bill, etc. from the last 30 days).

  2. Because of the network disruption, we're unable to do online card registrations for now. However, you can still come in person to get a full-service library card! Be sure to bring along a current, government-issued photo ID (like a driver's license or passport) and something that shows your current address. If your address is not listed on your ID, then a piece of mail with your name & address that's been postmarked within the last 30 days should suffice. If you have any other questions, you can call your local library branch using the information listed on our locations page: https://www.fortbendlibraries.gov/about-us/location-hours-map Sincerely, --Elizabeth
