Libby/hoopla will not let me sign up using my library card
This issue may be caused by a few different things. Please follow the steps below to test out your library account.
Try logging in to your Fort Bend County Libraries account using your full library card number (with NO spaces between the numbers) and PIN/Password. If you have forgotten your password, please enter your card number (again, with NO spaces) on our Reset Password page, click "Submit," and you will receive a reset link at the email address we have on file. (If you have reset your password/PIN recently, please use the new password to sign up for Libby or hoopla to see if that works.)
Once you've signed into your library account, please view your account information on the main page. Look for your Patron code: to see what type of library account you have. Most accounts will show Adult, Juvenile, eCard, or Texas Resident. However, if your patron code is Computer Use Only, then unfortunately your account is not currently eligible to sign up for Libby or hoopla.
If this is the case, please take the following steps to update your account with us:
If you are a Fort Bend County resident, please visit one of our library branches in person and bring your current government-issued ID when you visit. If your current address is not on your ID, please also bring something that shows your current address (like a recently delivered piece of mail in your name).
If you are no longer a Fort Bend County resident and would like to access Libby and hoopla through our library, you'll need to visit one of our library branches in person to upgrade your e-Card to a full-service account. Please bring your current government-issued ID when you visit. If your current address is not on your ID, please also bring something that shows your current address (like a recently delivered piece of mail in your name). Library cards are free to all Texas residents!
However, if your patron code does show Adult, Juvenile, eCard, or Texas Resident, or if you have any additional questions, please send us a message with a description of your issue (including any error messages Libby or hoopla gives you when you try to sign up) on our Contact Us form.

Do you know when account access to FBCL and Libby will be restored? Answer: Unfortunately, because the inquiry into our network disruption is ongoing, we don't have an estimate on when full access will be restored. In the meantime, please feel free to make use of hoopla, which is our other ebook & audiobook platform. You can find information about how to use hoopla on our hoopla FAQs page: https://www.fortbendlibraries.gov/landing-page/hoopla-digital-entertainment-faq Sincerely, --Elizabeth
